Koloa Landing

Koloa Landing, Poipu Beach Rd, Koloa, HI 96756 is an old boat ramp that is occasionally being used by Hawaiian Outrigger Canoes. When the ocean is calm and the skies are blue, this is one of the best locations to see large healthy coral and tropical fish. You enter into the ocean from the boat ramp and you snorkel along the rock wall edges along the deep drop off. Both the right and left side of the deep drop off have a good number of fish and Sea Turtles, but the right side appears to have the healthiest coral.

Most snorkelers are satisfied with the marine life at this location. You can expect to encounter Chromis Fish, Hawkfish, Surgeonfish, Tang, Triggerfish, Trumpetfish, Coral, Sea Urchins, and many Hawaiian Sea Turtles.

This location has parking near the boat ramp and off the main road. On Hoonani Road, you can park in the dirt area and walk down to the dirt road to the boat ramp or you can drive your vehicle down the rough dirt road and find parking closer to the ocean.
